As all of his male relatives eat their dinner, "Basile" realises that he is destined to follow in their genetic footsteps - and become bald! What now ensues sees this depressed narrator bemoan his appreciation of bald people as mean, evil, ugly or grumpy. They resort to ever ridiculous wigs and toupees. They can't get the girl.
