In all honesty, I only checked it out because of Peter Capaldi, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is among the finest television shows of the year and among the best in its genre. A well-directed and atmospherically eerie series, “The Devil’s Hour” is a more than enjoyable watch. With a premise that, while not wholly original, is implemented in a fresh and compelling manner, the show manages to stand out from the rest.
